Step Relations
Normally, people who have lived as relatives in the same household are not permitted to marry in adulthood even though there is no blood relationship.
However, such marriages may be possible under the following circumstances:
- The younger member of the couple must, at no time before the age of 18, have lived under the same roof as the older person.
- Both parties will be 21 or over when the marriage is due to take place.
