Music for Civil Ceremonies

Music for Civil Ceremonies

Music played at civil ceremonies, either at the register office or other licensed venue should be entirely secular. The choice may include any of your own personal favourites, so long as they do not have any religious connection. This includes music that may not have originally been written with religious ceremonies in mind, but has been adopted for this purpose, such as the Wedding March from A Midsummer Night's Dream by Mendelssohn.

Possible suggestions include the following pieces:

  • Air from the Water Music by Handel
  • Air on the G String by Bach
  • Canon in D by Pachelbel
  • Carmen by Bizet
  • Chanson De Matin by Elgar
  • Endless Love
  • Eternal Flame
  • Everything I Do, I Do It For You
  • First Movement from Eine Kline Nachtmusik by Mozart
