Young Attendants

Small bridesmaids often wear the same colour and style of dress as the adult attendants but you can choose to dress them quite differently as long as the different outfits compliment each other in some way. As with adult styles, little dresses can be bought at ready-to-wear retailers, hired for the day, or made to measure.

For pageboys and ring bearers, hiring an outfit is by far the best option. Small versions of highland dress and miniature morning suits are available from menswear hire shops.

When choosing outfits for child attendants, remember that they will almost certainly wear them for most part of the day, perhaps from quite early in the morning until the reception ends or they are taken home to bed. Children can be tough on clothes, so hiring may not be the best option since you'll be charged for any damage. However, if either your budget or the style of outfit you've chosen, means that you have to hire, then get the children to change out of their outfits immediately after the ceremony and before the reception begins.
