Planning Pointers

Planning Pointers

1. How Much?

How much can you afford to spend - including the honeymoon?

2. When?

You will need to check that the proposed date is suitable for everyone. Also make sure you take into account the weather at that time of year - don't forget that many exotic countries have a rainy season! Get the latest weather forecasts for all worldwide destinations at InterWeather.co.uk (includes 10 day extended forecasts).

3. Who?

If you want family and friends to join you on your special day, check that the destination is affordable for them.

4. Type of Ceremony

What type of ceremony would you like? Some countries will only permit civil ceremonies, whilst others will only allow you to renew vows.

5. Legal Requirements

Make sure you check the legal requirements of your chosen destination as usually there is a minimum stay required in the country before you can get married. It is not usually possible to get married in some countries such as Spain or France because of the long residency required prior to the marriage.

6. Unique Ideas

Do you have a specific requirement such as riding on the beach on an elephant? Ideas such as these will limit your choice of country.

7. Research

Make sure you spend lots of time looking through various travel brochures to see which countries appeal to you.

8. Honeymoon

Do you want to honeymoon in the same destination or would you prefer to honeymoon elsewhere?
